Bio

Arianwen Herbert is a freelance video reporter for ×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ. She holds an MBio in biochemistry from the University of Warwick, UK, and is a PhD student in interdisciplinary bioscience at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the evolution and adaptation of marine microorganisms, integrating lab and field-based approaches to investigate the biochemical and physiological processes underlying nutrient use and carbon fixation.

Arianwen won the Rosa Jane Small prize for "outstanding potential for postgraduate study and a career in research", as well as the Royal Society of Biology top project award and the Warwick School of Life Sciences prize for top performance.

Arianwen reports on a wide range of topics, including oceanography, environmental science, carbon cycles, biodiversity and biology. She is often at sea on research expeditions.
