Bio

Eleanor Parsons is chief subeditor at ×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ. She has a master’s degree in oceanography from the University of Southampton, UK. She joined ×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ in 2008 as a subediting intern and has held many roles within the subediting team. In 2023, Eleanor spent six months as a features editor specialising in biomedical science, editing articles on subjects such as acne, postnatal anxiety, ageing and the placebo effect. She also commissioned and edited a special issue on anxiety, including writing the opening section that explained what anxiety actually is, and co-edited a ×îÐÂÂ鶹ÊÓƵ Essential Guide titled . Eleanor has also written book reviews and guest wrote an instalment of the Wild Wild Life newsletter about the bizarre animals that live around deep-sea vents.
